The Callaway Resort and Gardens is located in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The resort is just a 60 minute drive southwest of Atlanta. The centerpiece of this 2,500 acre resort is Callaway Gardens which is built around Mountain Creek Lake. There are four different hotel options here and we chose to stay at the Lodge & Spa at Callaway Gardens. We went here for a family spring break trip, but it would also be a nice get away trip for couples.

Things to do:
Callaway Gardens
The Gardens offer a variety of nature trails that allow visitors to explore areas that showcase blooms and foilage all year round. Some of the highlights of the Gardens include the Azalea Bowl featuring more than 3,000 azaleas, the Hydrangea Garden, the Holly Trails which have the country's largest display of Asian & American Holly, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Trail, the Rhododendron Trail and the Bird of Prey Show. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, head over to The Country Kitchen located in the Callaway Gardens Country Store. Our breakfast was so good that we decided to go there again the next day for dinner. |
TreeTop Adventure & Zip Line
This self-guided aerial obstacle course takes you up to 70 feet in the air where you must navigate through obstacles like rope bridges and 10 zip lines that connect tree platforms throughout the forest and along the lake. This may look intimidating but it isn't very hard and does not require any special climbing skills. |
Extend Your Trip
You can easily extend your trip by taking the 1 1/2 hour drive to the Atlanta Evergreen Resort in Stone Mountain, Georgia. |
