San Diego Zoo

After spending the day at the San Diego Zoo it's easy to see why this zoo is world famous.  You will need an entire day to explore this 100 acre zoo with 3,700 animals and 700,000 plants.  We spent 4 1/2 hours here and still didn't have time to see and do everything the zoo has to offer.  Our one day ticket included a pass for the Guided Bus Tour and Skyfari Aerial Tram.

Downtown San Diego

Start your morning with breakfast at Richard Walker's Pancake House.  With so many things to do in San Diego you may want to spend more than one day exploring the area.  You can visit one of the local museums like the USS Midway Museum or the San Diego Air & Space Museum or you can see more animals at SeaWorld San Diego or the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
There are also plenty of options for spending time out on the water sailing, boating, or fishing.

La Jolla Cove

Make reservations in advanced for the La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour.  This guided tour will take you along the rocky coast to explore some nearby sea caves.  Your guide will be on the lookout for marine life as you paddle through the kelp forest.  Reservations are also recommended for lunch or dinner at George's Ocean Terrace on the rooftop patio overlooking the Pacific.  Walk along the shore to see sea lions and seals playing in the water or resting on the rocks and find a spot to sit down and watch the sun set.
