Epcot is one of four theme parks located in Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida. There are two main sections of the park; Future World and World Showcase. Spaceship Earth serves as the central hub of Future World in the front section of the park which features rides and attractions in pavilions such as the Land, Sea, and Space. The World Showcase features 11 countries including Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, and Canada. Visitors to each country can get a unique experience in dining, shopping, shows, and rides.

Getting Started:
If you want to get the most out of your day, you should plan on getting in line 30 minutes before the park opens. When the park opens go straight to the Land Pavilion to get in line for Soarin' Around the World. Ask a Cast Member for a seat in the first row to have the best view during the ride. Download the Disney App so you can check wait times at nearby rides and head to the rides with the shortest wait. |
FastPass+:
Disney World has a FastPass+ system available that allows you to save your spot in line and ride at a specified time. You can reserve up to 3 FastPass+ selections at a single park for each day of your stay. I recommend scheduling a FastPass time for 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 for Mission: Space, Spaceship Earth and Frozen Ever After since these rides will most likely have the longest stand-by lines. After you have used your third Fastpass you can use the app or kiosks in the park to get additional Fastpasses which you can use one at a time during the rest of the day. At the end of the day you can also get a FastPass for preferred viewing for the Epcot Forever evening show. |
Tips:
Currently, the 3 most popular rides at Epcot are Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and Soarin'. These rides are considered Tier 1 rides and you are only allowed to reserve 1 with the FastPass. To make the best use of your time I suggest going to Soarin' when the park opens, getting the FastPass for Frozen at 1:00, and riding Test Track in the Single Rider Line. People from the single rider line are used by Disney Cast Members to fill empty seats on the ride. Please note that your party will be seperated on the ride, but you can wait in line together and can meet back up again at the end of the ride. You must be age 7 and up to ride as a single rider. |
Characters:
There are plenty of places around Epcot to meet and greet your favorite Disney characters. There is a place to meet Belle in France and you can meet Aladin & Jasmin in Morocco. Mickey and Minnie can usually be found in Future World. Check the park map to find out the times and locations where you can find your favorite characters. |
Restaurants:
If you reserve a FastPass for Frozen at 1:00 you will be in the World Showcase area to make a 1:30 lunch reservation. I recommend making reservations ahead of time for a table service restaurant instead of trying to deal with the crowds and lines at the counter service restaurants. Some of our favorite places to eat at Epcot are the Biergarten Restaurant in Germany, the Spice Road Table out on the patio in Morocco overlooking the lagoon, and San Angel Inn Restaurante in Mexico. |
Nighttime Shows:
The current nighttime show on the World Showcase Lagoon is called Epcot Forever. The show features fireworks, lasers, music and other special-effects. The show can be seen from anywhere around the lagoon but the best views are between Canada and Mexico. You can get a Fastpass to see the show from a preferred viewing area. |
